Nancy Sommers, “I Stand Here Writing”
Writing About Writing, pp. 212-222
During Nancy Sommers "I Stand Here Writing" I believe I was able to learn the most and connect it to my writing in the easiest way possible. It is hard for me to allow myself to venture out because I believe I stray away from topic too much. Because I don't let myself venture out, I was able to see that I can be restricting myself from good ideas. Sommers wrote her article based off of how she interacted and taught her school children how to write. I was able to relate to some of these children and their struggles of writing. Most importantly, I was touched by her article through its non mainstream approach. It gave me the ability to allow myself to do the same when I'm writing for myself.
